MIDWEST WAS “FOUNDED IN 1952”
OUR HISTORY
Since 1952, Midwest Auto Auction has built a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and dependable service in the vehicle recovery and auction industry. What began as a small family-operated repossession company has grown into one of the Midwest’s most trusted full-service public auto auctions and liquidation companies.
Founded by Al Michel as Midwest Recovery and Adjustment Service, Inc., the company started with a simple mission: provide reliable recovery services to the financial community with honesty, efficiency, and respect. Operating initially in both Detroit and Cleveland, Midwest quickly became recognized for its expertise in automobile recovery and asset liquidation. By 1957, the company expanded its operations to include public automobile auctions, officially establishing Midwest Auto Auction.
Today, Midwest Auto Auction proudly serves banks, credit unions, municipalities, corporations, dealers, businesses, and the general public nationwide. Under the leadership of George Badeen, the company continues to uphold the values and work ethic that have defined Midwest for more than seven decades.
